I struggle with chase-and-close on the fast and competent rider who passed me while I strained and struggled up the winding and long hill approaching Brownfield Rd. This is clip 3. of the downstream trip to Clayton in the next county. Cycling downstream to the Wake County line about 3 miles South. I continue on, cycling past Clayton and stop at the Neuse River Greenway Trail bridge at MM 31.5 (see clip 5)

Notice the rider in front of me now is the rider whom I acquired just prior to clip #1 when he passed me ascending the less-than-fun hill to Brownfield Rd.

After crossing Brownfield road at MM 23 3/4, I soon appreciate the long ride ahead on the less hostile trail. This nicely paved trail tours many beautiful stretches of farming country white fences, I entered the winding downhill excitement... and a busy downhill challenge at MM 25 1/2.
